Virginia Beach, Va. – The St. Mary's College of Maryland women's soccer team saw their two-game win streak snapped Wednesday evening. St. Mary's (6-6) dropped a 3-0 non-conference decision to Virginia Wesleyan University (5-2-1), extending the Marlins' unbeaten streak to four straight.

How It Happened
- Virginia Wesleyan fired off 18 shots while the Seahawks were limited to eight for the match.
- The Marlins also claimed a 3-1 advantage in corner kicks.
- Carleigh Van Reenen netted an unassisted goal at 27:22 before finishing off a pass from Alexandra Fitz in the 44th minute to send VWU into halftime with a 2-0 lead.
- Sophomore Emmey German (Lutherville, Md./Towson) tested Tristan Roberts in the 37th minute while sophomore forward Alex Moody (Boxford, Mass./Masconomet Regional) made Roberts work in the 58th minute in St. Mary's only two shots on goal.
- Anna Pedicone stretched the Marlin advantage to 3-0 at 61:52 off an assist from Marli Hayward.

Notes
- Virginia Wesleyan now takes an 11-5 lead in the series and marks the first time since 2012 that the two sides have played each other. The Marlins own an eight-game win streak over St. Mary's while the Seahawks' last win over VWU came in 1999 – a 1-0 overtime decision.
