Box Score ST. MARY'S CITY, Md. – The St. Mary's College of Maryland volleyball team (5-12,0-2) hosted the Gallaudet University Bison (4-18, 1-2) for a non-conference matchup Friday night (Oct. 4). The Seahawks beat the Bison 3-1.

How It Happened

The two teams started the match at a 6-6 tie until the Seahawks used a five point run to take an 11-6 lead. St. Mary's College and Gallaudet traded points from there until the Seahawks took a 23-19 lead. Fatima Bouzid finished off the set with two service aces to secure the 25-19 win in set one.

The Seahawks took control early in the second set and never looked back. St. Mary's College came out to a 16-8 lead but Gallaudet would bring the score to a 21-16 Seahawk lead. That was the closest the Bison would come to the Seahawks as St. Mary's College rattled off four straight points to claim the 25-16 victory.

The Seahawks found themselves down 24-16 late in the fourth set but battled back to take a 25-24 lead. However, Gallaudet scored three straight points and took the third set 27-25.

St. Mary's College's most dominant set would come in the fourth as they roared out to a 20-9 lead and would eventually take the set and match with a score of 25-13.
