CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. – The St. Mary's College of Maryland volleyball team (4-10,0-0) traveled to Chambersburg, Pennsylvania to take on Wilson College (7-6, 0-0) for a non-conference matchup Wednesday night (Sept. 25). The Seahawks fell to the Phoenix 3-1.

How It Happened

• The two teams came out and played a very competitive first set that required extra points. The Seahawks were down 24-21 in the first but would come back to tie it at 25-25. Next, the Seahawks and Phoenix traded points all the way to 32-32 but from there, Wilson pulled away taking the set 34-32. 

• The second set  also proved to be a tight matchup as St. Mary's College held a slight lead late in the set at 23-22. A Fatima Bouzid pass to a Ellyse Sutliff kill would secure the set for St. Mary's College 25-23. 

• For the third straight set the winner would only win by two points as Wilson College took the set 26-24. 

• Wilson College sealed the match as they won the fourth set by a six point margin of 25-19. 

Inside the Box Score 

• Sophomore Chanel Lucas and Alessia Regazzoni led the Seahawks with seven kills each.

• Katie Agate led the Seahawks with seven digs and 20 assists, while Regazzoni notched a team-best two blocks.
