St. Mary's College - 41 | Morgan State - 99

How It Happened
  • The Seahawks trailed 4-0 early in the game until Gary Grant cut the Bear lead in half with a layup at the 18:47 mark of the opening half. The two point deficit would be the closest the Seahawks would get to the Morgan State lead for the remainder of the contest. Shortly after, the Bears strung together a 17 point run to extend their lead to 21-2.
  • St. Mary's College continued to battle as they eventually cut the Morgan State lead to 26-16 with 6:25 remaining in the first half. Olumide Lewis contributed seven points during the run, while Micah Henry and Gary Grant added a combined seven. The Seahawks tacked on six more points in the first and headed into halftime trailing by 20.
  • Morgan State controlled the second half of action and shut down any opportunity for the Seahawks to create a scoring run. The Seahawks received their offensive production from Daryn Alexander in the second half of action. Alexander racked up 12 of his 14 points in the final half, shooting 5-7 from the field which included a perfect 2-2 from beyond the three-point arc.
Inside the Box Score
  • As mentioned, Alexander finished with 14 points to lead the Seahawks on the offensive end of the floor, while Lewis and Grant trailed seven points each, respectively.
  • On the glass, Cameron Rucker and Alexander paced the Seahawks with a team-best five rebounds. Grant and Lewis hustled for a team-high two steals each, while Elijah Crawford collected a team-best two blocks.
