ST. MARY'S CITY, Md. – The St. Mary's College of Maryland men's soccer team posted a dominant United East Conference win on Wednesday night as six different Seahawks found the back of the net. St. Mary's College (11-5-0, 5-1-0 UEC) picked up a 6-1 victory over Gallaudet University (2-9-0, 1-6-0 UEC) for its second win in a row.
How It Happened
- The Seahawks owned a 2-0 advantage in the first five minutes of the game as senior captain Roshawn Panton (Bowie, Md./Eleanor Roosevelt) had a hand in both.
- Panton notched an unassisted goal in the first minute before sending a corner kick for senior captain Josh Luongo (Dunkirk, Md./Northern) to one-time in the fifth minute.
- St. Mary's College headed into halftime with a 4-0 lead behind goals from junior forward Thomas Williamson (Ellicott City, Md./Marriotts Ridge) at 33:03 and sophomore midfielder Luke Duswalt (Leonardtown, Md./Leonardtown) at 41:05.
- Sophomore forward Jason Caro (Lanham, Md./Good Counsel) made it a five-goal contest in the 70th minute off a cross from sophomore forward Casey Cruz (Great Mills, Md./Leonardtown).
- It became 6-0 game when Caro fed sophomore forward Noah Gregerman (Silver Spring, Md./Barrie School) in the 71st minute.
- Gallaudet avoided the shutout at 78:06 when Shane Angel, the Bison goalkeeper, converted a penalty kick for the visitors' lone goal.
