The St. Mary's College of Maryland Volleyball team traveled to Baltimore, MD Sept.4th to compete in two competitions Saturday afternoon. The Seahawks started their day against Widener at 2pm, followed by Goucher at 4pm. The Seahawks fought toe to toe against both teams but fell to one.
St. Marys-3 Goucher-0
How it Happened
-
Coming right off of a tough loss against Widener just before, the Seahawks were ready for redemption and came out strong against Goucher. The Seahawks would not give Goucher any breathing room and would take the first set (25-14).
-
Set two followed the same beat as the first and Saint Mary's was able to clinch the set, taking the lead entering the third match (25-16).
-
Going into set three the Seahawks were confident in their abilities and ready to take the third set for victory. Goucher knew they needed to fight back and started putting up more points than they had in either of the first two sets. However this pressure wouldn't faze the Hawks and they were able to win set three (25-20).
