Hilton Head Island, SC-- The St. Mary's College of Maryland men's tennis team came up short against Millikin University this afternoon (Mar. 17) as they resumed the PTR Spring Tennis Fest. The Seahawks dropped to 6-3 on the year, falling 8-1 in their third match of the event. 

Doubles

• Stephen Alam and Kier Nacua competed in the No.1 spot and dropped their match by a score of 8-4. Sam Sheats and Tyler Vanvalkenburg were also unable to get a winning result and fell 8-1 in the No. 2 spot. 

• Keawe Shepherd Johnson and Liam Pratt finished the doubles sessions by claiming the lone victory of the day for the Seahawks, defeating the Big Blue, 8-2 in the No. 3 spot.

Singles

• Stephen Alam dropped both sets in the No. 1 spot with scores of 6-3 and 6-4. Nacua competed in the No. 2 spot and also dropped both sets by scores of 6-2 and 6-0. Sam Sheets fell in a hard fought match in the No. 3 spot, coming up short in both sets by a score 6-2. Vanvalkenburg was unable to shift the momentum on the day and dropped both sets in the No. 4 spot. 

• Liam Pratt participated in the toughest match of the day in the No. 5 spot. Pratt battled all the way to a tie breaker, but was unable to come out on top.

• Keawe Shepherd Johnson finished in the No. 6 spot for the Seahawks and was unable to come away with another win. Shepherd Johnson took a two set loss, 6-1 and 6-0.
