St. Mary's City, MD-- The St. Mary's College of Maryland men's tennis team defeated the York College of Pennsylvania Spartans this afternoon (Mar. 26). To improve to 7-2 on the year. The Seahawks defeated the Spartans 8-1. 

Doubles

• Stephen Alam and Kier Nacua represented the Seahawks in the No.1 spot this afternoon and defeated the Spartans handedly, 8-2. Sam Sheats and Tyler Vanvalkenburg kept the momentum going and earned a big time win in the No. 2 spot by a score of 8-1.

• Finishing off the doubles sweep, Keawe Shepherd-Johnson and Liam Pratt came out on top 8-3 in the No. 3 spot.

Singles

• Stephen Alam swept the Spartans in the No. 1 spot, taking both sets 6-0. Kier Nacua was unable to make it a clean sweep on the day for the Seahawks and dropped his match in the No. 2 spot, falling in a tie breaker. Sam Sheets was able to get the Seahawks back on track, winning by scores of 6-3 and 6-0  in the No. 3 spot.  

• Vanvalkenberg and Shepherd-Johnson both took care of business in the No. 4 and No. 5 spots. Vanvalkenberg took both sets with scores of 6-1 and 7-5, while Shepherd-Johnson came out on top 6-2 and 6-1. 

• Liam Pratt closed things out in the No. 6 spot, bringing home a victory for the Seahawks with scores of 6-1, 4-6, and 10-5.
