Towson, MD-- The St. Mary's College of Maryland women's tennis team fell to Goucher College this afternoon (Mar. 5) in non-conference action. This was the Seahawks' third match of the spring season. The final score was 8-1 in favor of the Gophers, dropping their record to 2-3.
Doubles

St. Mary's was swept in doubles after three hard fought matches. Diana Levit and Hannah Gorel played in the No.1 spot this afternoon and came up short against the Gophers, 8-4. Sydney Anderson and Amber Manspeaker competed in the No. 2 spot where they were defeated in a close match by Goucher. The final score was 8-5.Â

Finishing things off in doubles, Jackie Agyemang and Giselle Harris were defeated in the No. 3 spot by a final score of 8-2.
Singles

Levit, Gorel, and Manspeaker competed in singles at the No. 1, No. 2, and No. 3 spot against the Gophers. All three were unable to secure a victory for the Seahawks. Levit lost with scores of 6-4,4-6, and 1-6. Gorel came up short 1-6 and 3-6. Manspeaker finished things up for the top three spots with scores of 0-6 and 5-7.

Anderson came away with the lone victory for the Seahawks in the No. 4 spot, coming out on top 6-4 and 6-2. Harris competed for the Seahawks in the No. 5 spot, but came up short 2-6 and 1-6. To wrap things up in the No. 6 position, Georgia Kline was defeated in two sets with scores of 3-6 and 5-7.
