Marietta, OH-- The St. Mary's Rowing squad competed in their second competition of the spring this past Saturday (Apr. 9) against Marietta College and the Ohio State club rowing program. Weather conditions for today's race were as followed:

• Conditions degraded throughout the morning as there were variable winds and a strong tail current. This resulted in the cancellation of the majority of races happening on the 2k course, with the exception of the Women's V8+. The rest of the races took place on a 1k course. 

How it Happened (1k):

• The OSU Club MV8 unfortunately could not participate in the races due to travel difficulties, so the St. Mary's MV8 split into two fours and raced each other. The Seahawk MN4 raced the OSU MN4. The Seahawk Novice 4+ squad faced the Ohio State Club Novice 4+ team in two races. In the first race, Ohio State Club finished with a time of 2:12.54, while St. Mary's finished in 2:09.94. In the second race, the Ohio State club had a finishing time of 2:33.18, while St. Mary's came in at 2:31.88.

St. Mary's Men's Rowing will return to action on April 16th when they compete in the Kerr Cup Regatta in Philadelphia, PA. They will be competing against a mix of division three and division one programs.
