FAIRFAX STATION, Va. – The St. Mary's College of Maryland men's rowing team earned their first-ever medal at the Mid-Atlantic Rowing Conference (MARC) Men's Championships on Sunday when the men's novice 4+ garnered a silver medal. Overall, the Seahawks finished seventh in the nine-team field with 16 points.

How It Happened
Men's Novice 4+

• St. Mary's placed second in Heat 2 with a time of 7:27.6 to earn a spot in the grand final along with MSOE (7:16.2), who won Heat 2, and Villanova (A) (7:31.9). From Heat 1, Stockton (7:33.7), Bucknell (7:44.2), and Villanova (B) (7:53.4) moved on to the grand final as well.
• The Seahawks then went on to finish second in the grand final by clocking a 7:22.8 behind MSOE (7:06.9) and ahead of Stockton (7:30.3).

• The Seahawks placed fourth in Heat 2 with a time of 6:37.5 for a spot in the petit final.
• St. Mary's then captured the petit final in 6:37.2, knocking off 0.3 seconds from its Heat 2 time and beating MSOE (6:40.7) and Stockton (7:09.0).
