How it Happened
-
The Seahawks have struggled on the road; their losses have taken place away from their home court. With the hopes of changing such, your Seahawks arrived at Catholic University ready to compete. Grace Gilmore (Redding, CT) notched the first point of the first set with a kill. The Cardinals quickly responded and created a 12-point gap between them and the Seahawks. St. Mary's was unable to recover and fell in the first match 14-25.
-
Even though the Seahawks started the second match in a deficit, a kill by Caitlynn Yoakum (Marshall, VA) helped tie the second match up 12-12. While the rest of the second match was within a few points, the Seahawks couldn't get ahead and fell in the second match 22-25. The Cardinals did not let up in the third and final set, creating over a 10-point lead at one point. The Seahawks were unable to regain their footing and lost the third set 11-25.
