Fredericksburg, VA. - The St. Mary's College of Maryland Women's Soccer Team (3-6-2) made the short drive to Fredericksburg, Virginia for a midweek non-conference matchup with the Eagles of Mary Washington University (6-5-1). The Seahawks fell in the contest, 2-0. 

How it Happened

• The Seahawks trailed 1-0 after the opening half of play. Mary Washington's Eliza Franklin got the Eagles on the board after converting on a penalty kick. 

• Emma Tawney made four saves in the first half for St. Mary's. 

• The Seahawks defense was able to keep them within striking distance going into halftime. 

• Mary Washington wasted no time getting on the board in the second half. Jazzy Imanverdi found the back of the net just three minutes into the new period.  

• The Seahawks were able to generate a few more opportunities in the final 45 minutes. Keira O'Neail and Lily Mellendick both took a shot in the half, but neither try was on target.. 

• Emma Tawney made three more saves in the second half and St. Mary's was able to keep Mary Washington off the board for the remainder of the game. The Seahawks would fall by a final score of 2-0.
