St. Mary’s College Men’s Soccer Dominant in Conference Win

ST. MARY'S CITY, Md. – Six different St. Mary's College of Maryland men's soccer players found the back of the net Tuesday afternoon. St. Mary's College (7-5-3, 2-1-1 UEC) tallied a season-best 11 goals in shutting out Gallaudet University (0-12-0, 0-5-0 UEC), 11-0, in United East Conference play.

  • The Seahawks put up eight goals on 17 shots in the first 45 minutes before tacking on three more in the second half.

  • Junior forwards Abdoul Anounkou (Togo/Springbrook [Md.]) and Elliot Hodges (Rockville, Md./Avalon) and first-year midfielder Braden Kindred (Olney, Md./Sherwood) all registered multiple-goal performances.
  • Anounkou matched his career-highs from his junior college days as he led the Seahawks with four goals and eight points.
  • Hodges and Kindred also had career days as they each notched career-bests of two goals and five points.
  • Senior forward Daniel Folson (Baltimore, Md./Eastern Tech) and sophomore midfielder Ryan Cooper (Annapolis, Md./Annapolis) each netted their first goal of the season.
  • First-year Jordon Eckman (Fallston, Md./Loyola Blakefield) made his collegiate debut with his first career start. Eckman turned away three Bison shots in securing his first collegiate shutout.
  • St. Mary's leads the all-time series, 32-2-1.
