Lily Davison (Phoenix, Md./Dulaney) and
Hailey Betch (Severna Park, Md./Severna Park)
combined for 10 goals and the St. Mary's College of Maryland women's lacrosse team won 22 of 35 draw controls but came up just shy of a win Saturday evening (March 11). St. Mary's College (3-3) dropped a heartbreaking 16-15 decision to Dickinson College (5-0) on Tierney Field at USA Lacrosse Headquarters

How It Happened
- St. Mary's scored early and often as the Seahawks jumped out to a 7-1 lead with 2:46 left in the first quarter. Betch led the way with a hat trick while Davison added a pair.
- The Red Devils responded in a big way, stringing together an 11-1 run to stake a 12-8 advantage with 26:31 remaining in the game. During the run, Dickinson scored seven straight in just over 11 minutes while the Seahawks committed eight turnovers.
- The Seahawk comeback trail began with an unassisted goal from sophomore Madison Laine (Kingsville, Md./Mercy) with 10:27 left in the third quarter, sparking a 5-2 run over the next 17 minutes to pull within 14-13 with 8:38 to go in the game. The Scala (Catonsville, Md./Mount de Sales) sisters, Elodie and Katelin, each had a goal and an assist in the run.
- After Dickinson went back up by three (16-13), Betch and Davison found the back of the net at 1:29 and 0:56, respectively, to make it a one-goal game once again.
- The Red Devils won the ensuing draw control and St. Mary's did not get another shot off.

- Davison finished the game with a career-tying five goals plus two draw controls.
- In addition to her seven draws, Betch added five goals.
- Katelin Scala chipped in career-highs of three assists and four points.
- Junior defender Rachael Freeman (Baltimore, Md./Friends) led the defense with three ground balls and a caused turnover.
- Junior goalie Maddie Clemmer (Middletown, Md./Middletown) made five saves and scooped up two ground balls in St. Mary's second straight loss.
Dickinson Game Notes
- Bella Guckes led all scorers with four goals while Delaney Herbert put three goals and two assists as Dickinson remained undefeated.
- Peyton VanDorpe turned away nine shots and picked up four ground balls.
