FREDERICKSBURG, Va. – Playing in their first game since a 17-14 win at Colorado College on March 15, the St. Mary's College of Maryland women's lacrosse team got back on the field Wednesday afternoon (March 29) and attempted a fourth-quarter comeback but fell just short.

How It Happened

- Molly Daw interrupted St. Mary's flow with a player-down goal at 8:18 before Betch responded with a pair of unassisted goals to make it a 16-10 game with 6:38 to go.
- Leanne Larkin completed a feed from Kendal Iwanicki at 5:25 for Mary Washington's final goal of the game and a seven-goal cushion.
- A minute after winning the ensuing draw, the Seahawks called a timeout. St. Mary's generated two shots following the timeout, but Allison Carolan was up to the challenge.
- Carmody broke through again for the Seahawks at 1:08 with a player-up free-position goal.
- Sophomore midfielder Colin Horton (University Park, Md./Elizabeth Seton) tallied St. Mary's final goal with 20 ticks on the clock off a feed by junior captain MC Mortimer (Baltimore, Md./Friends).
