St. Mary's College Men's Tennis Continues Sweep Streak Against Penn College

St. Mary's City, MD. – The St. Mary's College of Maryland Men's Tennis team hosted the Wildcats of Penn College in a United East Conference match. The match was cut short due to several lightning delays. All three doubles matches were played, but only the number one and two singles spots were able to compete. The Seahawks swept the Wildcats 5-0.

How It Happened:

Doubles

Singles

  • The Seahawks won the two singles matches that were able to be completely played through.

  • Boris Palmade took the number one singles spot in two sets: 6-0, 6-2.

  • Stephen Alam dominated the number two singles spot winning 6-2 and 6-1.

  • Nick Rohr was on the road to claiming the number three singles spot, winning the first set 6-2. However, the inclement weather did not allow the match to finish.

  • Keawe Johnson could not compete in the number four singles spot due to the weather.

  • There was no result for the number five singles spot that Daoud Alkhalidi was supposed to compete in.

  • Liam Pratt began to compete in the number six singles spot but after one point it was suspended due to weather conditions.

Up Next for the Seahawks

The Seahawks will be back in action on Tuesday, April 18th for a United East Conference match-up against Penn State Harrisburg. The Seahawks will travel to Middletown, Pennsylvania to compete with the Nittany Lions at 3:00 pm.
