Lancaster, PA-- The St. Mary's College of Maryland Women's Basketball Team (12-8) took on Lancaster Bible (6-14) for a United East Conference Matchup. The Seahawks would come up short, dropping the contest 63-73.Â

Lancaster Bible held a 16-6 lead after one quarter of play. The Seahawks got on the board quickly, but were held to just one basket over the final seven minutes of the quarter. Stephanie Howell, Tray Mobray, and Sam Blaylock recorded the three baskets for St. Mary's.Â

Rayna Miller hit a three pointer for the Seahawks to begin the second quarter to kick off a 7-0 Seahawk run to trim the Charger lead to just three. Despite the promising start of the quarter for St. Mary's, Lancaster Bible would regain control of the game and take an 11 point lead into halftime.Â

The St. Mary's defense buckled down to begin the new half, holding the Chargers to just nine third quarter points. The Seahawk started to get things rolling offensively as well. Rayna Miller connected on two crucial three point attempts at the end of the quarter to cut the Lancaster Bible lead to just five. The Chargers held a seven point lead going into the final quarter of play.Â

The fourth quarter featured offensive fireworks from both teams. St. Mary's and Lancaster Bible combined for 55 points, 31 of which belonged to the Seahawks. Olivia Liszt and Rayna Miller combined for a whopping 27 of the Seahawks 31 fourth quarter points, both connecting on big shot after big shot. Melanie Aguilar would be the one to come up clutch for the St. Mary's squad, putting in a layup with two seconds remaining in regulation to force overtime.Â

 Unfortunately for the Seahawks, Lancaster Bible would out score them 10-0 in overtime to take home a 73-63 win.  Â
