St. Mary's College Women's Soccer Ties Mary Washington 0-0

St. Mary's City, MD. - The St. Mary's College of Maryland Women's Soccer Team (9-1-2) welcomed the Eagles of Mary Washington University (4-3-3) to Jamie L. Roberts Stadium for a midweek non-conference matchup. The Seahawks and Eagles played to a 0-0 draw.

How it Happened

  • Scoring chances were few and far between for both squads in the first half of action. Mary Washington out shot St. Mary's 3-1 in the first half, but neither team put a shot on goal. 

  • Mary Washington began to control the possession time in the second half and generated a number of great scoring opportunities. The Eagles hit the post on several occasions, but also saw a number of shots controlled by Seahawk goalkeeper Kyleigh Bland.

  • The Seahawks had their best scoring opportunity in the 63rd minute when a pass leaked through to Alyssa McLane just outside the top of the box. McLane boomed a kick towards the upper portion of the goal and just missed, hitting the upper post. 

  • The Eagles out shot the Seahawks 15-2 in the game. St. Mary's and Mary Washington ended the match in a 0-0 tie.
