Lancaster, PA- The St. Mary's College of Maryland Volleyball team (18-11) faced off against Lancaster Bible College (25-6) in the United East Conference Semifinals. The Seahawks fell to the Chargers, 3-0.

Lancaster Bible opened that match with a convincing 25-17 victory in set one. The Seahawks managed to cut the Charger lead to two at 14-12. From that point forward, Lancaster Bible controlled the momentum for the rest of the set.Â

The Chargers carried their strong start from the first set over to the second, jumping out to an 8-1 lead over the Seahawks. St. Mary's would rally and eventually captured their first lead of the set at 24-23 after a five point run. Arielle Lubeck recorded two service aces over that stretch while Julia Bobrowski and Gracie Zartman recorded a kill each. Unfortunately for St. Mary's, Lancaster Bible scored the next three points to claim a 26-24 set two victory.Â

St. Mary's jumped out to an early lead after a six point run. Maya Mauro picked up two service aces during that run and Julia Bobrowski contributed a kill as well. The Seahawks led 14-9 before the Chargers went on a run of their own. Lancaster Bible took the lead at 20-17. The Seahawks and Chargers went back and forth for several more points before the Chargers scored the last two points of the set to win 25-21 and take the match, 3-0.
