Box Score

Salisbury, MD-- The St. Mary's College of Maryland Women's Basketball Team (2-3) took on Salisbury University (2-3) for their first road contest of the year. The Seahawks fell to the Seagulls 66-57.

How It Happened

  • St. Mary's found themselves trailing 17-8 after the first quarter of play. Keira Mason, Tramarie Mobray, Rayna Miller, and Samantha Miller all scored two points for the Seahawks to start the game.

  • The Seahawks were able to trim the Seagull lead to just four midway through the quarter, but Salisbury responded and was able to take an eight point lead into halftime. Halimah Hajhassan and Tramarie Mobray each recorded four points in the quarter for the Seahawks.

  • The Seahawks were able to stay within striking distance for a majority of the third quarter. Salisbury could never grow their lead to double digits. This was in part due to the strong effort of Tramarie Mobray, who chipped in another nine points towards the St. Mary's tally. Samantha Miller ended the quarter with a three pointer for the Seahawks as they trailed the Seagulls by nine going into the final 10 minutes of play.

  • St. Mary's scored the first three points of the final quarter off of a Samantha Miller layup and a Keira Mason free throw to trim the Salisbury lead to just six. Unfortunately for the Seahawks, momentum could never fully be established as the Seagulls grew their lead back to double digits a few minutes later. The Seahawks ended up falling in the game, 66-57.
