MIDDLETOWN, Pa. – The St. Mary's College of Maryland men's basketball team saw their two-game win streak snapped Saturday afternoon (Feb. 10). St. Mary's College (13-11, 8-3 UEC) dropped a 73-52 decision on the road to Penn State Harrisburg (21-3, 11-0 UEC). With the win, Harrisburg completes the United East Conference season sweep of the Seahawks.
How It Happened
- Sophomore forward Jake Koverman (Severna Park, Md./Southern) gave the Seahawks an early 3-0 lead before Harrisburg responded with a triple of its own a minute later (17:25) for the first of seven tied scores.
- St. Mary's College boasted a 16-12 lead – its biggest of the game – at 12:16 following a layup by first-year guard Kyree Smith (Baltimore, Md./City), capping a 9-2 spurt by the Seahawks.
- The last draw came when Koverman made it 22-all at 4:41 by knocking down a pair of free throws.
- The Lions closed out the half on a 13-5 run to carry a 35-27 advantage into the break.
- SMCM continued to struggle to find its shooting stroke in the second half as the Seahawks' shooting percentage dipped from 36.7-percent in the first 20 minutes to 33.3-percent.
- Harrisburg never relinquished the lead and owned a double-digit margin for the final 13 minutes of the game, owning its biggest advantage of 21 points (66-45) at 3:15 when Donyae Baylor-Carroll made one of two free throws.

- The Seahawks posted a season-best 85.7-free throw percentage (12-14) but only connected on two of 16 three-point attempts with Koverman making both.
- Harrisburg had the hot hand and notched a .509-field goal percentage (28-55) for the game, including 55.6-percent in the second half. The Lions also drained half of their 16 triples.
