Women's Basketball Trips Up at Harrisburg

Harrisburg, PA-- The St. Mary's College of Maryland Women's Basketball Team (13-10) traveled to Penn State Harrisburg (13-11) for a match up with the Nittany Lions. The Seahawks fell short, 74-49. 

How It Happened

  • The Seahawks and Nittany Lions played a back and forth opening quarter with the Nittany Lions holding a 14-10 advantage. Tramarie Mobray had six first quarter points while Stephanie Howell contributed the other four.

  • St. Mary's took their first lead since the opening minutes of the game after an Olivia Liszt layup. Mobray and Liszt would string together two more buckets to extend the Seahawk lead to five. The Seahawks and Nittany Lions continued to go back and forth and Harrisburg had just a two point advantage at the halftime locker room. Melanie Aguilar gave St. Mary's the lead with just 40 seconds left in the second quarter after a made three pointer, but the Nittany Lions capitalized one more time to begin the second half with a slim lead. 

  • Amira Whitaker gave the Seahawks their first points of the new half with a three pointer, but Harrisburg controlled much of the momentum early on in the third period. The Nittany Lions took a 10 point lead going into the final 10 minutes of play.

  • Harrisburg led by as much as 17 midway through the fourth quarter. Tramarie Mobray began to chip away at the Nittany Lion lead making back to back layups to trim the deficit to just 13. Olivia Liszt also got involved with a made three pointer. Despite the resilient effort from the Seahawks, Harrisburg pulled away to win, 74-49.
