SMCM Men’s Basketball Headed to Volt Division Championship

LANCASTER, Pa. – Fifth-year captain Daryn Alexander (Twinbrook, Md./Richard Montgomery) dropped a game-best 28 points and the third-seeded St. Mary's College of Maryland men's basketball team turned around a nine-point second-half deficit to move on in the United East Conference Volt Division Men's Basketball Championship Tournament Monday night (Feb. 19).

St. Mary's College (16-11) knocked off No. 2 seed Lancaster Bible College (16-10), the defending United East champion, 80-75, in the semifinals of the Volt Division Tournament.

The Seahawks will now travel to Middletown, Pa., on Wednesday, February 21, to take on top-seeded Penn State Harrisburg (22-4), a 92-79 victor over No. 4 seed Penn College in tonight's other semifinal. Wednesday's Volt Division Championship game will be the third meeting between the two sides this season. Penn State Harrisburg swept the season series, picking up a 70-66 win on January 16 and a 73-52 victory on February 10.
