ST. MARY'S CITY, Md. – Junior attacker
Hailey Betch (Severna Park, Md./Severna Park) had a hand in 10 of the 21 Seahawk goals Saturday afternoon (Mar. 23) as the St. Mary's College of Maryland women's lacrosse team opened United East Conference action. St. Mary's College (5-5, 1-0 UEC) snapped a three-game skid with a convincing 21-7 league win over Bryn Athyn College (5-2, 0-1 UEC).
Three career milestones were achieved during the game as senior captain
Rachael Freeman (Baltimore, Md./Friends) scooped up her 150th career ground ball, senior attacker
Bella Dunigan (Catonsville, Md./Catonsville) notched her 100th career point, and junior transfer
Ella Baynes (Baltimore, Md./Catholic) notched her 100th career goal.
How It Happened
- Three different Lions found the back of the net to give Bryn Athyn an early 3-2 lead with 3:18 left in the first quarter. Betch and sophomore attacker Katelin Scala (Catonsville, Md./Mount de Sales) scored 39 seconds apart for SMCM's first lead of the game (4-3) at 2:14. Maria Storck knotted the game at 4-all before the period ended.
- The Seahawks pulled away in the second frame with six unanswered goals in an 11-minute span and headed into halftime with an 11-5 advantage after Kira Bradley tacked one on 31 seconds before the break.
- After trading the first two goals of the third period, St. Mary's College went on a nine-goal spree to stake a 21-6 lead with 4:18 left in the game. Sabrina Brock picked up a woman-up goal with 1:03 to go for the 21-7 final.

- The Seahawks posted a 42-18 shot advantage, a 23-15 margin in ground balls, and an 18-13 edge in draw controls behind a career-best six draw controls from first-year midfielder Grace Lintz (Towson, Md./Towson).

- First-years Allie Greeley (Havre de Grace, Md./Havre de Grace) and Annie Wise (Canton, Ga./Woodstock) split equal time in goal and combined for five saves.
Bryn Athyn Game Notes
- Brock and Storck led the Lions with two goals each. Storck also added four ground balls, four caused turnovers, and two draw controls.
- Chloe Munyon made eight saves as Bryn Athyn saw its four-game win streak halted.
