Millersville, PA-- The St. Mary's College of Maryland Baseball Team (4-12) traveled to Millersville, Pennsylvania for s United East Conference Doubleheader against the Lancaster Bible College Chargers (14-5-1). The Seahawks dropped the first seven inning game, 6-5 and the second nine inning game, 13-4

How It Happened (Game 1)

• Lancaster Bible took an early 3-0 lead after a three run first inning.

• Layne Lesko got the Seahawks on the board in the top of the third with a solo home run. 

• Two innings later, George Berbakos connected on a long ball of his own to give the Seahawks their second solo home run of the afternoon and their second run of the ball game. The Seahawks trimmed the Charger lead to just one.

• Lancaster Bible added two runs in the bottom of the fifth to once again take a three run lead. 

• The top of the sixth proved to be a big one for the Seahawks. Gavin Wathen and Ian Walters both hit one out singles and Garrett Pullium got walked to load the bases. Layne Lesko showed great plate discipline and earned a walk with the bases loaded to give the Seahawks their third run of the day. Adrian Auber made the play of the day a batter later, driving home two runners on an RBI single to tie the game. 

• After a couple of scoreless innings, Lancaster Bible walked it off on the bottom of the seventh to win game one, 6-5.

Inside the Box Score (Game 1)

• Gavin Wathen paced the Seahawks in hits with two.

• Adrian Auber and Layne Lesko each contributed two RBI's.

• Tommy Brill went six innings, gave up three earned runs, and struck out three.   

How It Happened (Game 2)

• Lancaster Bible scored nine runnings over the first two innings to take a 9-0 lead. 

• Trevor Smith got St. Mary's on the board with a two run homer in the top of the third to cut the Charger deficit to seven.

• The Chargers added another run in the bottom of the fourth to reach 10 on the day.

• Adrian Auber flipped the momentum back in favor of the Seahawks with an RBI double in the top of the sixth to send home Layne Lesko. Lesko reached base earlier in the inning with a single. 

• Lancaster Bible scored three more runs in the bottom of the sixth to extend their lead to 10.

• Ian Walters added another run for the Seahawks in the top of the seventh to get the Seahawks back to within single digits. Walters connected on an RBI double to send home Chase O'Dell from second. 

• The Chargers would hold on to win 13-4.

Inside the Box Score (Game 2)

• Adrian Auber led the Seahawks with three hits. 

• Trevor Smith had a team high two RBI's.

• Ryder Chalk, Nick Russo, and Willie Nelson all made appearances on the mounds for St. Mary's. Russo pitched five and two thirds innings, faced 25 batters, and gave up four earned runs.
