Tindal, Zukley Gain USTFCCCA All-Mid-Atlantic Region Honors

NEW ORLEANS, La. – First-years Ty Tindal (Philadelphia, Pa./Martin Saints Classical) and Jillian Zukley (Severna Park, Md./Severna Park) each picked up a U.S. Track & Field/Cross Country Coaches Association Outdoor Track & Field All-Mid-Atlantic Region award as announced by the organization last Friday (May 17).
 
Tindal garnered his second All-Mid-Atlantic Region honor in the 100m dash after earning an all-region award during the indoor season for the 60m dash. Zukley notched her first career All-Mid-Atlantic Region honor in the shot put.
 
To earn All-Region distinction, an individual must finish in the Top 5 of their respective event.
 
Tindal ended the outdoor season fifth in the Mid-Atlantic region in the 100m dash with his time of 10.81, which he clocked at the Alan Connie Shamrock Invitational down in Myrtle Beach, S.C. (Mar. 15). He qualified for the All-Atlantic Region Track & Field Conference (AARTFC) Outdoor Track & Field Championships in the 100m dash thanks to his performance in South Carolina.
 
He brought home the United East Conference Outdoor Track & Field Men's Rookie of the Year award after medaling in four events at the United East Championships. Tindal captured the long jump for a First Team All-United East award while adding a pair of Second Team All-United East awards (100m, 200m) and one Third Team All-United East honor in the 4x100m relay.
 
Zukley wrapped up her rookie campaign fourth in the region in the shot put with a personal-best and school record-setting distance of 12.27m produced at the Alan Connie Shamrock Invitational. She earned a spot in the AARTFC Outdoor Championships with her performance at the Shamrock Invitational, placing 15th in the shot put this past week's AARTFCs with 11.53m.
 
She cleaned up at the United East Outdoor Track & Field Championships, winning both the Women's Rookie of the Year and Women's Co-Field Athlete of the Year awards. Zukley notched three First Team All-United East awards after capturing the discus throw with 34.84m, claiming first place in the hammer throw with a personal and school record of 43.82m, and garnering top honors in the shot put with 11.83m.
