Box Score

St. Mary's City, MD. - The St. Mary's College of Maryland Women's Soccer Team (6-1-1) traveled to the nation's capital for a midweek non-conference matchup with Catholic (4-2-1). The Seahawks defeated the Cardinals 1-0.

How it Happened

  • St. Mary's and Catholic played to a 0-0 draw after the first 45 minutes of action.

  • Both teams mustered four first half shots. The Cardinals were able to force Kyleigh Bland into two first half saves, while the Seahawks did not put a shot on goal over that stretch.

  • St. Mary's shifted the momentum of the game in the 51st minute with their second shot of the new half. Alyssa McLane picked up her third tally of the year on an unassisted goal and gave the Seahawks the first lead of the day for either squad.

  • The Seahawks almost made it a two goal lead after back-to-back shots on goal by Ashlyn Bonner and Gracie Tourangeau, but both were turned away by the Cardinal goalkeeper.

  • Despite a couple of quality second half opportunities from the Cardinals, the Seahawk defense was able to hold them off from adding the equalizing goal.

  • Kyleigh Bland had three second half saves in the St. Mary's 1-0 victory.
