St. Mary's City, MD. - The St. Mary's College of Maryland Women's Soccer Team (7-1-1) welcomed the Blue Jays of Elizabethtown College  (4-2-1) for another non-conference matchup. The Seahawks stuck early and defeated the Blue Jays 1-0.

How it Happened

• The Seahawks came out of the gates fast and had a 1-0 lead to show for it. Ashlyn Bonner dribbled into space and stepped into a shot from way outside the bottom corner of the box. Bonner put it perfectly in the top right corner past the Blue Jays goalkeeper to give St. Mary's the lead early.

• St. Mary's held their 1-0 lead into the halftime break.

• The Seahawks out shot the Blue Jays 7-4 in the first half. 

• Kyleigh Bland made four first half saves for St. Mary's. 

• St. Mary's had an opportunity to double their lead with a flurry of shots inside the box from Gracie Tourangeau, Allie Petryszak, and Brooke Hall in the 56th minute, but none were able to find the back of the net. 

• The Seahawks once again out shot the Blue Jay's, this time 8-7 in the second half

• Kyleigh Bland and the Seahawk defense were up to the task. The Blue Jays were unable to find the back of the net for the remainder of the game. St. Mary's held on to win, 1-0.

• St. Mary's recorded their sixth clean sheet of the year.
