Keira Mason (Brandywine, Md./Gwynn Park) combined for 51 points as the St. Mary's College of Maryland women's basketball team rolled to their seventh United East Conference win. St. Mary's College (10-6, 7-0 UEC) nearly broke the century mark Tuesday night (Jan. 14), posting a 96-47 victory over University of Valley Forge (3-11, 2-5 UEC).
How It Happened
- The first quarter was a close affair for the first five minutes with Saniya Green knotting the game at 10-10 at 4:49. The Seahawks broke the game open by closing out the quarter on a 15-4 run lead by Blaylock's eight points and capped by a three-pointer by first-year guard Samantha Miller (Annapolis, Md./Broadneck) with two seconds on the clock.
- SMCM held the Patriots to nine points in the second frame while putting up another 25 points to stake a 50-23 lead at halftime. Sophomore guard Marley Saunders (Catonsville, Md./Gerstell Academy) opened the quarter with back-to-back three-pointers to lead the charge, finishing the period with eight points.
- Blaylock tallied nine points in the third quarter as St. Mary's College outscored Valley Forge, 26-10, behind 60.0-percent shooting while the Patriots shot below 20-percent.
- Mason notched the first six points of the final period while sophomore captain Olivia Liszt (Baltimore, Md./Mercy) added another six points to fuel the Seahawks' 20-point effort.

- SMCM scored a season-best 96 points on a season second-best 48.8-percent. This is the most points since a 110-point effort against Wells College on February 18, 2023.
- St. Mary's College picked up 45 points off of 39 Patriot miscues while the Seahawk defense generated a season second-best 22 steals.
- The Seahawks registered a +17-rebounding margin over the hosts, grabbing 46 boards to UVF's 29 caroms.

- Mason collected her sixth double-double of the season with 25 points and a career-high 16 boards while adding three steals and two assists.
- Liszt put up double-digit points as she scored a dozen while chipping in eight caroms, three steals and two assists.
Valley Forge Game Notes
- Green paced the Patriots with 24 points in Valley Forge's fifth consecutive loss.
