St. Mary's City, Md. – The St. Mary's College of Maryland women's soccer team continued its postseason run with a composed and dominant performance on Tuesday evening, earning a 2–0 victory over Penn College in the United East Semifinals at Jamie L. Roberts Stadium.
With the win, the Seahawks improved to 13–6–2 overall and advanced to the United East Championship match for the second consecutive season.
St. Mary's jumped out to an early lead in the 9th minute when Keira O'Neail buried a finish off a well-placed assist from Maddison Spradlin. The Seahawks doubled their advantage in the 35th minute as Felicia Fishburne scored off another Spradlin setup, giving the hosts a 2–0 cushion they would not relinquish.
The Seahawks controlled the match from start to finish, outshooting Penn College 16–8 and holding a 5–2 advantage in corner kicks. Goalkeeper Kyleigh Bland earned the shutout, recording two saves behind a disciplined back line.
Spradlin finished with two assists, while O'Neail and Fishburne provided the offensive spark that propelled St. Mary's to the title match.
With the victory, the Seahawks advance to face Penn State Harrisburg in the United East Championship this Saturday. Match time and additional details will be announced later this week.
