Chestertown, Md. – The St. Mary's College of Maryland women's basketball team saw its comeback effort come up short in a 72–62 setback at Washington College on Saturday afternoon at Penny J. Fall Gymnasium.

Washington College jumped out to a fast start, building a 22–10 lead after the first quarter. St. Mary's responded with a strong second period, shooting over 50 percent from the field to cut the deficit to 39–30 at halftime.

The Seahawks continued to chip away in the third quarter, outscoring the Shorewomen 16–11 and briefly taking a one-point lead midway through the period. St. Mary's entered the fourth trailing just 50–46, but Washington College answered with timely three-pointers and free throws down the stretch to secure the win.

Keira Mason led the Seahawks with 18 points, 11 rebounds, and four assists, recording a double-double to anchor the St. Mary's offense. Tramarie Mobray added 17 points on efficient shooting, including a pair of three-pointers, while Olivia Liszt chipped in nine points, seven rebounds, and three assists.

Off the bench, Samantha Blaylock contributed eight points, and Sidney Shaw added seven points and four assists. The Seahawks received 36 points from their bench, continuing to show depth throughout the rotation.

St. Mary's forced 20 turnovers and converted them into 19 points, but Washington College held a 40–29 rebounding advantage and went 20-for-28 from the free-throw line to maintain control late.
