HUNTINGDON, Pa. – Senior captain
Hailey Betch (Severna Park, Md./Severna Park) scored four times in leading the St. Mary's College of Maryland women's lacrosse team to their first win of the 2025 campaign Saturday afternoon (Mar. 8). St. Mary's College (1-4) posted a convincing 15-3 road win over Juniata College (2-3) to snap its four-game skid.
How It Happened
- Juniata scored the first goal of the game at 12:37 and then it was the Seahawk show as SMCM rattled off 11 straight goals to lead 11-1 at halftime.
- The Eagles once again opened the half with the first goal before four different St. Mary's College players found the back of the net to make it a 15-2 game with 5:35 remaining in the game.

- The Seahawks outshot Juniata, 27-12 and earned a +2-turnover margin (16-18).
- SMCM gained a 14-9 advantage in ground balls behind a game- and season-best four loose ball pickups by sophomore defender Claire Boudreau (Towson, Md./Towson).
- St. Mary's College dominated draw controls with a 14-5 margin as Boudreau won a game-high seven draws.
- The Seahawks were 2-for-4 on free-position shots while JC was 0-for-1.
St. Mary's College Game Notes
- Betch finished with a season-best four goals for the third time this season and added two draw controls.
- Senior captain Madison Laine (Kingsville, Md./Mercy) and sophomore midfielder Hope Harrison (Catonsville, Md./Mount de Sales) both contributed two goals and an assist. Laine also chipped in a season-high two caused turnovers.
- Junior attacker Katelin Scala (Catonsville, Md./Mount de Sales) tallied a season-best two goals as well.
- In goal, junior Isabel Gautreaux (Bel Air, Md./Bel Air) made seven saves and scooped up a season-best three ground balls to improve to 1-3 on the season.

- Three different Eagles found the back of the net as Juniata saw its two-game win streak halted.
