SMCM Men’s Lacrosse Tames Bryn Athyn

BRYN ATHYN, Pa. – The St. Mary's College of Maryland men's lacrosse team used a balanced attack to notch their eighth win of the season Saturday afternoon (April 19). St. Mary's College (8-6, 3-0 UEC) put up 21 goals in a 21-1 victory over host Bryn Athyn College (3-5-1, 1-2-0 UEC) in United East Conference play.

  • Thirteen Seahawks found the back of the net in fueling an 18-0 lead with 7:55 left in the game.
  • Dylan Fesmire tallied a man-up goal a minute later to get Bryn Athyn on the board and avoid the shutout.

  • SMCM posted a 77-3 shot advantage and dominated the face-off, winning 24-of-26 as junior Matteo Ciccarello (Crofton, Md./Arundel) went a perfect 12-for-12 while first-year Drake Erisman (Pasadena, Md./Chesapeake) was 11-of-13.
  • St. Mary's College earned a 36-11 margin in ground balls as Ciccarello (9) and Erisman combined for 14 loose ball pickups.

  • Sophomore Ty Grove (Finksburg, Md./Saint John's Catholic) and first-year Ty Spencer (Hanover, Md./Indian Creek) split equal time in goal with Grove making a save and Spencer scooping up a loose ball.
