BRYN ATHYN, Pa. – Seven goals in each of the first two quarters helped the St. Mary's College of Maryland women's lacrosse team wrap up the regular season Saturday afternoon (April 19) with their fourth consecutive United East Conference regular-season championship title.
St. Mary's College (8-7, 4-0 UEC) posted a 19-6 victory over host Bryn Athyn College (7-4, 2-2 UEC) in the regular-season finale, locking up the No. 1 seed in the 2025 United East Conference Championship Tournament. The tournament begins next Saturday, April 26 with two semifinal games. The Seahawks will host fourth-seeded Cedar Crest College (5-7) at the Jamie L. Roberts Stadium. Game time to be determined.
How It Happened
- A pair of 2-0 runs by SMCM sandwiched Kayla Smith's unassisted goal which put Bryn Athyn on the board with 8:09 left in the first quarter. Smith struck again with 2:36 to go in the first to cut the Lions' deficit to 4-2.
- Three straight scores by senior captain Hailey Betch (Severna Park, Md./Severna Park) in the final two minutes of the first period sparked a 10-0 run by St. Mary's College, giving the visitors a 14-2 lead at halftime.
- Sabrina Brock opened the second half with an unassisted tally just 85 seconds into the third frame. The Seahawks notched the next three goals to stretch their lead to 17-3 with 4:13 remaining in the third.
- Brock and Xola Wade netted consecutive goals to trim the host's deficit to 12 with 13:11 left in the game. SMCM ended the game on a 2-1 run for the 19-6 final.

- Scala's four goals matched a career-best while her six points set a season-high while Harrison matched her career-bests in both goals and points (5).
- Sophomore defender Claire Boudreau (Towson, Md./Towson) grabbed a game-best eight draw controls while adding two ground balls.
- Junior defender Carsyn Smith (Crownsville, Md./Old Mill) forced four of the Lions' 12 turnovers while scooping up two ground balls as well.
- Senior goalie Isabel Gautreaux (Bel Air, Md./Bel Air) and sophomore Allie Greeley (Havre de Grace, Md./Havre de Grace) split equal time in goal with Greeley making three saves.

- Smith, Brock, and Wade all finished the game with two goals each.
- Chloe Munyon notched 10 saves in Bryn Athyn's second straight loss.
