St. Mary's City, MD-- The St. Mary's College of Maryland Baseball Team (11-14) concluded their regular season with a United East Doubleheader against Penn State Abington (17-18). The Seahawks were victorious in game one, defeating the Lions 14-4, but fell 11-9 in game two. 

How It Happened (Game 1) (Seven Innings)

• The Seahawks scored two runs over the bottom of the first and second innings. Cole Tarleton connected on an RBI single and Trevor Smith notched a solo home run to give St. Mary's a 2-1 lead after two.

• St. Mary's broke the game open in the bottom of the fourth inning with three runs. Cole Tarleton blasted a triple to score two while George Berbakos knocked an RBI single the next at bat to take a 5-1 lead. 

• Penn State Abington scored three runs in the top of the sixth inning to make it a 5-4 ball game, but the St. Mary's offense went on to slam the door shut. 

• The Seahawks scored nine combined runs over the final two innings. Cole Tarleton led things off with an RBI double that scored two. George Berbakos, Ian Walters, Trevor Smith, and Layne Lesko all picked up an RBI as well in the bottom fo the sixth. St. Mary's iced it in the bottom of the seventh with three more RBI's from George Berbakos, Ian Walters, and Trevor Smith to win 14-4. 

Inside the Box Score (Game 1) (Seven Innings)

• Cole Tarleton finished with four hits and five RBI's. 

• George Berbakos has four hits and three RBI's. 

• Ryder Chalk picked up the win going five and two third innings while giving up four earned runs. Jordan Bonhoff picked up the save for the Seahawks. 

How It Happened (Game 2)

• Penn State Abington jumped on top 8-1 after the top of the second inning. 

• The Seahawks responded with a four run bottom of the second that featured an Eli Shafer double that scored three runs to make it 8-4. 

• The Lions scored three runs in the top of the third inning to take a 11-4 lead. 

• St. Mary's began chipping away at the Abington lead with a three run bottom of the fifth. Corey Brown singled to left field to score a run, which was immediately followers by a Layne Lesko RBI single to score two more. 

• Rhett Fletcher got the Seahawks to within two in the bottom of the sixth after he connected on an RBI single that snuck past the short stop. 

• Unfortunately for St. Mary's, the scoring stopped their as they fell 11-9. 

Inside the Box Score (Game 2)

• Layne Lesko and Eli Shafer both chipped in two hits and two RBI's. 

• Tommy Brill earned the loss on the mound, going one and a quarter inning. Nick Russo pitched six innings and gave up three earned runs, striking out six. Willie Nelson and Anthony Walsh also made appearances on the bump for the Seahawk as well.
