St. Mary's City, MD-- The St. Mary's College of Maryland Baseball Team (5-10) hosted the Cairn Highlanders (14-10) for a United East Double header. The Seahawks defeated the Highlanders in game one 6-0, but fell 9-8 in game two. 

How It Happened (Game 1)

• St. Mary's jumped out in front early in the bottom of the first inning. Aaron Wathen drove home Eli Shafer from third to give the Seahawks a 1-0 lead. Cole Tarleton delivered an RBi single the next at bat to make it a 2-0 ball game. 

• The Seahawks continued to add to their lead in the bottom of the second.Cole Tarleton got hit by a pitch with the bases loaded to get St. Mary's another run. George Berbakos doubled the next at bat to break the game open and give the Seahawks a 5-0 advantage. 

• The middle innings were quiet for both sides, as neither team could get much going offensively. 

• St. Mary's broke up the scoring drought in the bottom of the eighth inning. Corey Brown recorded a sacrifice fly that allowed Ian Walters to score from second on an unearned run. 

• The Seahawks blanked the Highlanders and went on to win 6-0

Inside the Box Score (Game 1)

• Gavin Wathen, Cole Tarleton, and Ian Walters all recorded two hits. 

• Cole Tarleton and George Berbakos both finished the game with two RBI's. 

• Ryder Chalk earned the win after pitching eight innings and giving up zero earned runs. Chalk also struck out three. Jordan Bonhoff pitched one inning for the Seahawks as well. 

How It Happened (Game 2)

• Cairn Struck first, scoring three runs in both the top of the second and third innings to take a 6-0 lead. 

• St. Mary's answered with a four run outburst in the bottom of the third inning. Ian Walters recorded an RBi on a ground out and Cole Tarleton knocked an RBI single. The splash play in the inning came from Adrian Auber, who tripled to score two runners. 

• The Seahawks scored three more runs in the bottom of the fourth to take the lead. Cole Tarleton knocked a double, which was followed by a George Berbakos single to score three runners. 

• St. Mary's took a 8-6 lead in the bottom of the fifth after a Kyle Catanzaro single drove home Trevor Smith, who doubled earlier in the inning. 

• Unfortunately for the Seahawks, Cairn scored three runs in the top of the third to retake the lead. St. Mary's could not rally to retake the lead and fell in the game 9-8.

Inside the Box Score (Game 2)

• Cole Tarleton led the way with four hits and three RBI's. 

• Adrian Auber finished with two hits and two RBI's. 

• Tommy Brill pitched six innings and faced 30 batters, giving up five earned runs. Nick Russo earned the loss after pitching two thirds of an inning. Jack Overton and Anthony Walsh made appearances on the mound for the Seahawks as well.
