Box Score Ashland, Va. – September 13, 2025 – The St. Mary's College of Maryland women's soccer team (2-3-2) put together a strong second-half push but ultimately dropped a 2-0 decision at Randolph-Macon College (1-3-1) Saturday night at Nunnally Field.
The Yellow Jackets tallied both goals in the second half, breaking through in the 46th minute on a strike from Madison Blanchard before Ally Spangler added an insurance goal in the 79th minute, assisted by Ariel Farmer.
The Seahawks weathered heavy first-half pressure as goalkeeper Kyleigh Bland registered nine of her 12 saves in the opening 45 minutes to keep the match scoreless at the break. Bland finished the evening facing 29 total shots, with 14 on frame.
Offensively, St. Mary's came alive in the second half, firing 14 of its 15 shots after the intermission. Forward Gracie Tourangeau led the attack with a team-high five shots, including two on goal, while Megan Rusk, Sidney Shaw, and Maddison Spradlin each added attempts on target. Randolph-Macon goalkeeper Erin Morris turned away all seven Seahawk shots on goal to secure the shutout.
The Seahawks also generated seven corner kicks on the night compared to Randolph-Macon's eight, creating multiple dangerous opportunities late.
St. Mary's will look to bounce back when the Seahawks return home to face Catholic University on Wednesday, September 17 at 7:00 p.m. at Jamie L. Roberts Stadium.
