Box Score St. Mary's City, Md. – September 20, 2025 – The St. Mary's College of Maryland women's soccer team (3-4-2) dropped a 4-0 decision to visiting Virginia Wesleyan (5-1-1) Saturday afternoon at Jamie L. Roberts Stadium.
The Marlins wasted little time getting on the scoreboard, striking just over a minute into the match on a goal from Shyenne Diaz. Virginia Wesleyan added two more tallies before halftime, as Kaylyn Seitz and Alexis Miller converted in the 10th and 45th minutes, respectively, to give the visitors a 3-0 lead at the break.
The Seahawks generated three total shots, including one on goal, but found it difficult to break through a stingy Marlins defense. Virginia Wesleyan continued to press offensively and sealed the match in the 83rd minute with a goal from Charlotte Gantt.
Goalkeeper Kyleigh Bland turned in another strong effort for St. Mary's despite the scoreline, collecting seven saves on 28 Marlins shots.
Virginia Wesleyan finished the match with an 11-1 advantage in shots on goal and a 10-1 edge in corner kicks.
The Seahawks will look to bounce back when they host Valley Forge on Saturday, September 27, at 3:30 p.m. at Jamie L. Roberts Stadium.
