FREDERICKSBURG, Va. – Junior
Lauren Lovejoy (Newburg, Md./La Plata), sophomores
Sarah Levit (Rockville, Md./Richard Montgomery) and
Zoë Wilson (Clarksburg, Md./Holy Cross), and first-year
Lily Ganjbaksh (Potomac, Md./Winston Churchill) represented the St. Mary's College of Maryland women's tennis team at the 2025 Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Division III Southeast Regional Championships hosted by the University of Mary Washington over the weekend (Sept. 27-28).
Ganjbaksh earned an 8-2 victory over Shenandoah University's
Olivia Guzzo in the Championship singles main draw Round of 64. She bowed out in the Round of 32, falling to Swarthmore College's
Erin Li in straight sets (6-2, 6-4).
Lovejoy and Wilson both competed in the B2 singles main draw Round of 16. Lovejoy suffered an 8-1 setback to
Mairead O'Hara of The Catholic University of America while Wilson dropped an 8-5 decision to Gettysburg College's
Emma Ward. Wilson then battled
Isadora Lima of the University of Lynchburg in the consolation quarterfinals, taking an 8-1 loss.
Levit came up on the short end of an 8-2 loss to Mary Washington's
Madison McCarty in the B3 singles main draw Round of 16. Levit's next opponent,
Kaylee Hobbick of Stevens Institute of Technology, retired in the consolation quarterfinals.
In the B1 doubles main draw Round of 16, Ganjbaksh and Levit fell 6-3 to Catholic's
Ava Niggemeier and O'Hara. Ganjbaksh and Levit then rebounded with a 6-3 victory over Gettysburg College's
Meaghan Dougherty and
Emma Ward.
Lovejoy and Wilson lost 6-1 to Mary Washington's
Abiela Wang and McCarty before falling 6-2 to Moravian College's
Sydney Shifman and
Natalia Smith.
