Lexington, Va. – The St. Mary's College of Maryland women's volleyball team faced a tough slate Saturday at the Washington & Lee Tri-Match, dropping contests to No. 9 Washington & Lee and Mary Washington.
Match 1 – Washington & Lee 3, St. Mary's 0
The host Generals (7–0) remained unbeaten, sweeping the Seahawks 25–16, 25–16, 25–3. Sophmore outside hitter Maya Mauro paced the attack with six kills, while sophmore Faith Shockley and junior Hope Parrish added four apiece. Arielle Lubeck dished out 11 assists to go along with eight digs, and Stella Marrero anchored the back row with a team-high 15 digs.
Match 2 – Mary Washington 3, St. Mary's 0
The Seahawks (2–3) showed resilience in their second match of the day, pushing Mary Washington in a tight second set before ultimately falling 25–16, 26–24, 25–19. Maya Mauro delivered a strong performance with 15 kills and nine digs, while Hope Parrish chipped in five kills. Elizabeth Childs provided a spark at the service line with six aces, and setters Camilla Galeano (12 assists, six digs) and Lauren Panageotou (11 assists) directed the offense.
With the results, St. Mary's moves to 2–3 overall on the season. The Seahawks return to action on Tuesday, September 9th when they travel to No. 21 Christopher Newport.
