Seahawks Sweep Wilson to Earn United East Conference Victory

Box Score CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - The St. Mary's College of Maryland volleyball team earned a straight-set victory over Wilson College on Saturday afternoon, sweeping the Phoenix 3-0 in United East Conference action. The Seahawks controlled the match from start to finish, winning by set scores of 25-16, 25-11, and 25-20. 

St. Mary's opened the match with a strong first-set performance, limiting Wilson to 16 points to take an early lead. The Seahawks continued to build on that momentum in the second set, holding the Phoenix to just 11 points in a dominant 25-11 win. Wilson put up a stronger fight in the third set, but St. Mary's maintained its composure to close out the match with a 25-20 victory and secure the sweep. 

Julia Bobrowski led the Seahawks offensively with seven kills and added five digs and three service aces. Hope Parrish and Vlada Costenco each contributed six kills, while Sanaa Porter added six kills and a team-high three blocks. Faith Shockley recorded three kills while hitting an impressive .750 in limited attempts. Lauren Panageotou paced the Seahawks' offense with eight assists and five service aces, while Camilla Galeano added 13 assists and seven digs. Elizabeth Childs anchored the defense with seven digs and contributed three service aces. 

With the win, St. Mary's improves to 4-0 in United East Conference play. The Seahawks return home on Wednesday, October 14, to host Penn State Brandywine at 7:00 p.m.
