CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. – The St. Mary's College of Maryland men's soccer team exploded for a season-best nine goals for their second straight win Wednesday afternoon (Oct. 7). St. Mary's College (5-7, 2-2 UEC) shut out Wilson College (1-7-2, 1-2-0 UEC), 9-0, as forwards
Franco Reyes (Silver Spring, Md./Montgomery Blair) and
Matthew Kuwik (Rockville, Md./Richard Montgomery) each scored twice to pace the Seahawks.
How It Happened
- SMCM put up five goals in the first half on 20 shots (10 on target) while the defense limited Wilson to three shots (none on goal). Junior forward Nick Haney (Chesapeake Beach, Md./Northern) had a hand in three of the goals as Haney notched a goal and two assists in the first 45 minutes.
- The second half featured four more Seahawk goals with Kuwik finding the back of the net twice and senior midfielder Tyler Foti (Annandale, Va./Annandale) assisting on two scores.

- St. Mary's College finished with a 38-5 shot advantage, including a 19-0 margin in shots on goal.
- The Seahawks also posted a 5-1 edge in corner kicks.
St. Mary's College
- Haney and Foti each contributed a goal and two assists. Haney has now scored in three straight games and four of the last five.
- First-year defender Elijah Isett (Berlin, Md./Stephen Decatur) scored his first goal as a Seahawk while first-year midfielder Quinto Barrett (Annapolis, Md./Broadneck) dished out his first collegiate assist.
- Senior Jordon Eckman (Fallston, Md./Loyola Blakefield) and first-year John Watts (Hollywood, Md./Leonardtown) combined for the team's second clean sheet of the season.
Wilson
- Five different Phoenix took shots while Gerson Navarro gave up four goals and made five saves in 36 minutes. Noah Lucas relieved Navarro and allowed five goals with five stops in 54 minutes.
