MIDDLETOWN, Pa. – The St. Mary's College of Maryland field hockey team lost a heartbreaker Wednesday evening (Oct. 7) in a key United East Conference matchup. St. Mary's College (4-6, 1-1 UEC) dropped a 2-1 double overtime decision at Penn State Harrisburg (6-5, 2-0 UEC).

How It Happened
- The Seahawks earned a penalty corner less than two minutes into the second extra frame and sophomore midfielder Julie Presgraves (Frederick, Md./Frederick) fired off a shot at 71:25 which was turned away by Mackenzie Mulholland. - Penn State Harrisburg leveled up the score at 25:43 when Rucker finished off a pass from Astrid Comp for a 1-1 draw heading into halftime.
- Mascolo took the only shot of the third quarter, which was blocked by the Lion defense, off the lone penalty corner at 41:38.
- The home team owned a 2-1 shot advantage in the fourth stanza but each defensive unit took care of business, and the game went into an extra frame.
- In the first OT period, Harrisburg earned two corners but did not generate any offensive opportunities from them.
