ST. MARY'S CITY, Md. – Junior midfielder
Hope Harrison (Catonsville, Md./Mount de Sales) scored a career-best four goals for the second straight game Saturday afternoon (Feb. 21) as the St. Mary's College of Maryland women's lacrosse team played their first home game of 2026 at the Jamie L. Roberts Stadium. St. Mary's College (0-3) dropped a 16-10 non-conference decision to Shenandoah University (2-0).
How It Happened
- Shenandoah owned a 4-1 advantage after the first quarter of play as Alex Ripkin scored twice.
- A four-goal second period allowed the Seahawks to pull within 6-5 heading into halftime. Four different SMCM players fueled a pair of 2-0 runs during the frame.
- The Hornets put up six goals in the third stanza to stretch their lead to 12-6 going into the final quarter of play. Emily Ransom notched a hat trick to lead SU to the six-goal cushion.
- Harrison and junior midfielder Sanne Elling (Ocean View, Del./Sussex) both found the back of the net in a two-minute span to have St. Mary's College come within 15-10 with 5:24 left in the game after the Hornets had gone up by seven three minutes earlier.
