Women’s Basketball Defeats Penn State Harrisburg, 78–47

ST. MARY'S CITY, Md. — The St. Mary's College of Maryland women's basketball team used balanced scoring and steady defensive pressure to earn a 78–47 victory over Penn State Harrisburg on Monday Evening at the Michael P. O'Brien Athletics and Recreation Arena. 

The Seahawks controlled the game from start to finish.The Seahawks used a strong first quarter to gain control of the game early, out scoring the Lions 19-7 in the first frame. They continued to extend their early lead behind efficient shooting and strong play on the glass. St. Mary's finished the contest shooting 45.9 percent from the field and outrebounded the Lions 38–32.  

Olivia Liszt led all scorers with 22 points, shooting 8-of-13 from the floor and 5-of-6 at the free-throw line, while adding five rebounds, an assist, and three steals. Tramarie Mobray followed with 16 points on 6-of-12 shooting, contributing four assists, a steal, and three rebounds.

Rayna Miller added 13 points, going 5-of-7 from the field, and pulled down two rebounds, while Keira Mason chipped in seven points, six rebounds, and an assist. Saffiyah Gibson also scored seven points, shooting 5-of-8 from the free-throw line and adding a rebound, a steal, and an assist.

St. Mary's received contributions throughout the lineup, totaling 16 assists and forcing 16 turnovers on the defensive end. The Seahawks also blocked four shots in the win.

Penn State Harrisburg was limited to 47 points as the Seahawks held the Lions to contested looks much of the evening.

St. Mary's will return to action on Wednesday, February 4th when the Seahawks travel to Notre Dame (Md.) for another United East contest.
