READING, Pa. – St. Mary's College of Maryland claimed 229 spots between the 2025-26 United East Conference Fall and Winter/Spring All-Academic Teams to lead all United East institutions for the second straight academic year.
 
To be selected, a student-athlete competing in a fall, winter, or spring conference-sponsored sport must achieve a grade point average of 3.2 or higher for the fall or spring semester and must have been in good standing on their team.
 
The conference office announced the Fall All-Academic Team (Feb. 16), which featured 697 student-athletes from all 14 full-member institutions and one associate member across six fall sports. St. Mary's College garnered 90 student-athletes on the Fall All-Academic Team to top the league.
 
The top Seahawk squads representing SMCM with the most athletes on the Fall All-Academic Team were field hockey with a department-high 25 selections followed by men's soccer and women's soccer tied for second with 18 each and women's volleyball in fourth with 14. The men's and women's (11) cross country teams combined for 15 spots.
 
The Winter/Spring All-Academic Team, which was released June 29, listed 1,073 student-athletes from all 14 full-member institutions and five associate members across 15 winter and spring sports. The Seahawks took 139 spots on the Winter/Spring All-Academic Team to finish second behind Penn State Harrisburg's 147 selections.
 
SMCM men's lacrosse paced the department on the Winter/Spring All-Academic Team with a department-high 28 selections while baseball was a close second with 26. The St. Mary's College women's lacrosse team rounded out the top three with 22 honorees.
 
The men's (15) and women's (20) outdoor track & field teams combined for 34 selections while the indoor track & field programs posted 33 as the women landed 18 and the men picked up 15.
