ST. MARY'S CITY, Md. – The St. Mary's College of Maryland men's soccer team wrapped up their Seahawk Classic Sunday (Sept. 13). A goal in the 71st minute proved to be the difference as St. Mary's College (3-3-0) dropped a 1-0 non-conference decision to Lehman College (1-1-1).
How It Happened
- The game was evenly contested in the first half with neither side being able to put anything on target.
- Following a scoreless draw through the first 70 minutes of the contest, Lehman finally broke through as Ibrahim Ouedraogo headed in a cross at the far post for his first goal of the season.
- The Seahawks played with urgency for the remainder of the match, peppering the Lightning defense. Shots by forwards Lucas Evans (Greenbelt, Md./South River) and Nick Haney (Chesapeake Beach, Md./Northern) went off the far post and crossbar, respectively, while Evans had another attempt turned away by Matthew Strainz.
