EDUCATION

• B.S. in Physical Education and Coaching - Erskine College (2018)

Josh Covey joined the St. Mary's College coaching staff in 2020 as the pitching coach. Covey added the responsibilities of recruiting coordinator in 2021.

In 2021, the Waldorf, Md., native helped the Seahawks pitching staff to third in the Coast-To-Coast Athletic Conference with a 6.51 team earned run average while Dillon Waters was fifth in the league with a 4.04 ERA. Covey mentored Tyson Johnson to first in the C2C with a 2.25 ERA in 2020 before the season was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Additionally, St. Mary's College was fourth with a 5.05 team ERA during his first season on staff.

He graduated from Riverdale Baptist School in Upper Marlboro, Md., in 2014 before attending Division II Longwood University on scholarship. Covey spent two years at Longwood and then transferred to Division II Erskine College for the final two years of his career.
 
Off the diamond, Covey is a special education teacher at Great Mills High School.
