The 2014 campaign marks LisaValentine's second season on the field hockey coaching staff. In the spring, Valentine serves as the women's lacrosse head coach at St. Mary's.
Valentine came to St. Mary’s from Washington College in Chestertown on the Eastern Shore. She served as an assistant coach for the Shorewomen in the summer of 2008 before being promoted to senior assistant coach and recruiting coordinator the following summer. During her tenure, four Shorewomen earned All-Centennial Conference awards.
The Stevensville, Maryland native played lacrosse for Division I perennial powerhouse, University of Maryland, for four years. As a Terrapin, Valentine had the opportunity to make four trips to the NCAA women’s lacrosse championship tournament including advancing to the national semifinals as a freshman. She earned a B.A. in economics from Maryland in May 2006.
In August 2006,Valentine took on the role of field hockeyand lacrosse coach at her high school alma mater, Kent Island,where she was an all-conference selection in lacrosse duringher scholastic years.
Valentine graduated from theNCAA Women Coaches Academy held in Atlanta in June 2011. TheAcademy provides skills training for female coaches at all levelsto assist them in being more efficient, productive, resourceful andsuccessful.
She is also the co-founder of Shore ShotLacrosse, offering camps, clinics and tournaments on the EasternShore.
